Lefkas - Lefkada

Lefkas is the largest and the capital city of Lefkada island, located in the north, 15 kilometers from the airport in Preveza. Urban and full of amenities, Lefkas can satisfy different generations and tastes of tourists.

The city has a spacious pedestrian zone studded with shops, cafes, restaurants, taverns, and other tourist attractions. A smaller square is located at the entrance to the large harbor, and the central town square is Agios Spiridonas, with the church of the same name from the 17th century.

There are well-stocked large supermarkets, several museums, churches, and lots of various events and festivals. A special attraction is the medieval Frankish fortress of Agia Mavra, one of the few buildings that survived the devastating earthquakes of the 1950s. Lefkas also has its own shopping area full of boutiques and shops, as well as a number of clubs and bars along the coast. Agios Ioannis beach is 3 kilometers away, and there are other popular beaches in the area such as Gyra, Mili, and Kastro.
