Igoumenitsa is located in the northern part of the Ionian coast of the historical province of Epirus, and opposite the southern part of Corfu. The town is located in a small bay. To the east, Igumenica is closed by mountains. Igumenica today has a population of about 15,000 in the municipality and less than 10,000 in the city itself.
The abbess has always been the port of the great hinterland of Epirus. Today, after the construction of the Ignatius highway, the possible gravitational area of the port has been significantly expanded, which gives the city a bright future as a more significant port in the country. Tourism is developed around the city. Visitors can enjoy the peace and beauty provided by this place.
